Finishing touches
Hi, I'm Catalina, but people call me Rola. I'm the maker and teacher at a la Rola.
I was born in Colombia and have been living in beautiful Cologne for about 18 years. I am a Germanist, my love for the German language inspired me to write books myself. Yes, macrame books!
You could get the impression that I am not a colorful person, because personally I only like to wear black clothes. But I live out the joy of colors in my work with yarns. A passion that has accompanied me since my school days in Colombia. Even during my studies, I attended numerous courses in textile craftsmanship and learned a wide variety of techniques - the focus was always on colorful yarns and textiles.
With the name and the design of my label, I am sending out two messages: First, "a la Rola" stands for the special way in which I process and handle materials. Second, weaving, knitting, crocheting and macrame are the means of expression of my crafts. They all have one thing in common: fibers and knots!
I would like to inspire the macrame community for my joy in colors!
