Final touches
Hi! I'm Tuija, the founder of Macrame Makers Club and Curious Craft Studio. I love macrame (well, duh?), traveling to all corners of the world, and cuddling with my little fur babies. I currently live in Vienna, Austria, but who knows where I'll go next.
I'd love for you to drop me a message - let's get to know each other! 💛

Hi Tuija, I think I have decided to to make my wall hanging 7 diamonds across and I feel I have calculated the cord lengths correctly but just wanting your thoughts on the fringe. Your original pattern is for a 40cm fringe and I’m wondering should I make the fringe longer to balance it out and if so do you think 10cm would be enough?
Thank you
Joyce
Hi Joyce, that’s great – I’m happy you’ve decided to make the wall hanging “your own” with a little customisation! I would indeed add a bit of length to the fringe too, unless you like a shorter fringe. In the last lesson (https://macramemakers.club/course/amelie-macrame-wall-hanging-tassels-fringe/) I added photos of three different fringe designs. The red has the original 40cm fringe and the light grey’s fringe is about 25cm.
Are you using the same thickness of cord? If the thickness is the same and you like a longer fringe, then I would add at least 10cm, if not more, like 15-20cm. I always like to have a little extra length to play with. 🥰
Thank you for your help.
