The king of pixel macrame
The vertical clove hitch (VCH) is nothing but the normal clove hitch knot knotted vertically. Some people call this knot also a vertical double half hitch knot, but I like the shorter clove hitch version.
This knot is often used for pixel macrame projects.

Step by step instructions:
- Feed your working cord behind the first two filler cords on the left of your work. Short end of your working cord is on the left.
- Loop the longer end of your working cord over the filler cords to the left, then behind the filler cords, taking it to the right passing over itself. You now have your working cord twice behind your filler cords and once over them. Behind the filler cords the working cord crosses itself once.
- Push the knot up and tighten.
- Repeat number 2 once more and tighten.
- Finish your row and work back to the left following steps 2-4 in reverse direction.
