Let’s learn how to weave
Want to learn how to incorporate beautiful weaving to your macrame projects? Soumak weave is a popular weaving technique often used in macraweave wall hanging pieces like the one in this video.
Usually weaving is done from bottom up and macrame from top to bottom, so whenever you’re using weaving in your macrame pieces you usually first create a macrame “frame”, where you leave some empty spaces without knots, and then you add the weaving on top.
In this tutorial we focus on learning how to make a braided soumak weave. The full tutorial for the wall hanging in this video is coming up in a couple of weeks, but meanwhile we can learn how to make this gorgeous macrame weaving technique that can be incorporated onto many different projects.
