Mount your cords
If you're making the top of a plant hanger like I am in this tutorial, mount your working cords with a reversed lark's head knot. Pass the filler cord (or cords) through the LH before tightening it.
You need at least two cords folded in half (or four hanging cords) to make this knot, but you can make this knot with multiple cords like I do here.
Knotting endless falls
Once your cords are mounted, follow these steps:
- Cross the filler cords in front of the working cords. The filler(s) on the right go to the left and the filler(s) on the left go to the right.
Grab where these cords meet in the middle and knot around them with the working cords:
- If you have more than two working cords, divide them in two equal bunches.
- Take the rightmost working cord (or cords) from below your fillers, bring them to the front and loop them over the fillers passing the cord ends through the loop on the right (created by the filler cords).
- Repeat with the leftmost working cords.
- Tighten all cords.
Repeat these steps as many times as you like. For a plant hanger I recommend to repeat this knot at least 4 times to see the beautiful "endless falls" it creates on both sides.
