Wrap your cord ends
The gathering knot (sometimes also called wrapping knot) is a simple way to end your plant hangers or add as an extra design element to your wall hanging or keychain for example.
Step by step instructions
You'll need one working cord to make a gathering knot. If you're using a 5mm cord to practise with, take at least 60-80cm of it for the working cord. Inside the gathering knot you can put basically as many filler cords as you like and need.
Take your working cord and make a little fold in the short end.
Start wrapping your working cord around the bundle of filler cords, making your way towards your the fold you created in the previous step.
Make at least 5 rounds, preferably more, so that your knot will be strong enough.
Once you're done wrapping, pass your working cord through the loop.
Pulling from the short cord end, "lock" the fold and the working cord inside the wrap. This locks your knot and it won't unravel.
Cut the cord ends and voilà , you're done!
